Former music department students Paul Fitzsimmons and Skip Sanders are making headlines with Pittsburgh-based band Good Brother Earl. Fitzsimmons (guitar) received a Mildred Miller Posvar Scholarship in 1998, and Sanders (keyboard) received the 1998 Mellon Jazz Scholarship. Both were members of the Jazz Ensemble during their years at Pitt. Good Brother Earl’s recent CD, Perfect Tragedy is receiving regular airplay on local stations WYEP and WDVE.
