Melanie Kaye Moseley is an Ethnomusicology PhD student from Oxford, North Carolina (NC). She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Performance from North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC and is also an alumna of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC.
Melanie’s research interests include the commodification and reception of 19th-century Blackface Minstrelsy, Coon Song, and 20th- and 21st-century minstrelsy, as well as their depictions of African Americans and effects on the Black community.
