The Department of Music will host jazz clinics and performances presented by James Johnson III (drums), Glenn Zaleski (piano), Dan Wilson (guitar), and Ivan Taylor (bass). The guest artists will will give two short performances and conduct clinics with members of Pitt's Jazz Ensemble and Small Jazz Ensemble. All events are free and open to the public.

Join Pitt's Jazz Ensemble for classic and contemporary favorites for Big Band.
Pitt Jazz Ensemble hosts bands from Falk and CAPA Middle Schools and West Virginia University. Guest adjudicator Ellen Rowe will perform with Pitt's Faculty Jazz Sextet and lead the Pitt Jazz Ensemble in two of her own compositions.
Pitt Jazz Ensemble's annual spring concert will feature guest artist Dr. Kenny Powell on saxophone and flute with music by Ralp Guzzi, Ellen Rowe, Charles Mingus and more.
Tickets: general admission, $10; students, $5. Tickets available at the door (cash only).
The Pitt Jazz Ensemble presents music celebrating the centennial anniversary of famed arranger and Pittsburgh native Billy May. The program will feature Pitt student performer Kelsey Hillock singing some of May's arrangements for Ella Fitzgerald. The performance will also include music of Charles Mingus, Harold Mabern, Gordon Goodwin, Joe Zawinul, Sammy Nestico and others. Assistant director Yoko Suzuki (alto sax) will be featured on the Weather Report song "A Remark You Made." Join us for this celebration of Pittsburgh jazz history!

The Pitt Jazz Ensemble Spring Concert will feature guest vocalist and Pitt jazz voice instructor Sandy Dowe. The program will include jazz classics by Freddie Hubbard, Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, Horace Silver and much more.
Tickets will be available at the door only. General admission is $10; Student admission is $5.

What better way to kick off Jazz Week than the Pitt Jazz Ensemble in a free concert at the William Pitt Union? Ralgh Guzzi leads the ensemble in a program of jazz standards inlcuding music by Mary Lou Williams, Billy Strayhorn and Errol Garner.
