Jacob Fisher - Senior Capstone Album | Breakfast & Beats
Friday, April 5
Digital Release at Midnight

A new album release is on the way. Sources say it combines elements of funk, hip-hop, and jazz. This 25-minute instrumental is rumored to funk your socks off, so bring an extra pair.

Jacob Fisher is a fourth-year undergraduate music major at the University of Pittsburgh. Studying on the composition track, he was presented with the task of creating a senior capstone project. He always wanted to produce an instrumental album that best represents his musical tastes and abilities, and his 2024 creation, "BREAKFAST & BEATS," includes songs accumulated throughout his four years of undergraduate experience. Mr. Fisher requests first-time listeners to wear their best pair of headphones while enjoyin the best meal of the day.

The University Gamelan Ensemble plays the gamelan music of the Sundanese people. Pitt's gamelan group includes students as well as community members. Participants in the gamelan program are encouraged to use Sundanese processes of learning as much as possible; oral transmission of musical parts is preferred over written notation and working together as an ensemble is more important than developing individual talent. This concert comes at the conclusion of The Politics of Contemporary Sound in Indonesia Symposium.
